Veronica's Weekly Scavenger Hunt - Baseball

Writer's picture: MasonRiceASPMasonRiceASP

Welcome to Veronica’s Weekly Walking Scavenger Hunt! This week we are asking you to draw a BASEBALL and put it in a window at the front of your house.

Then later in the week you can go out and walk around your neighborhood looking for as many baseballs as you can find!

Remember to keep a count of how many baseballs you see so you can let us know.

Why did we choose baseballs? As many of you know Veronica is a huge baseball fan and she wants to celebrate the beginning of baseball season by sharing this scavenger hunt.

Baseball History:

The first ever opening day was on April 22, 1876. Boston defeated the Philadelphia Athletics 6-5 at the Jefferson Street Grounds in Philadelphia.

Barry Bonds holds the record for most home runs hit in a season with 73 in 2001 while he was playing for the San Francisco Giants.

The National League had eight original members: the Boston Red Stockings, Chicago White Stockings, Cincinnati Red Stockings, Hartford Dark Blues, Louisville Grays, Mutual of New York, Philadelphia Athletics, and the St. Louis Brown Stockings.
