​MRASP is...

The Mason-Rice Afterschool Program is a safe, nurturing, fun environment for children.  By actively collaborating with families and school staff, we have built a supportive "neighborhood of the 21st Century" that meets the needs of an increasing number of students K through 5.  We are a  private, non-profit, parent cooperative and have been serving the families of the Mason-Rice community since 1980.



Our Mission

Our mission is to provide high quality out-of-school time programming for school-age children and to support families.

Services Provided:

* Quality, on-site program, open from 12:30-6 every school day

* Professional staff - creative, fun, and nurturing

* Effective coordination & communication with Mason-Rice staff

* February and April school vacation week full-day programs, Tuesday through Friday

Paul Kielb

Gr. 3 Program Coordinator

Paul was born and raised in Boston. He is a big time Patriots and Celtics fan. He enjoys watching sports as well as playing them.  This is his 11th year at MRASP and 5th year as program coordinator.

Carra Dewing

Assistant Director

Carra is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who was born and raised in northern Virginia. This is her 6th year working with MRASP and her third year as a Assistant Director.

Jonathan Kilchherr

Hut Senior Coordinator

Jonathan has worked at MRASP for the last 24 years. He started his work with kids through the YMCA after school in Vermont. Jonathan enjoys playing guitar and building model airplanes during his free time.
