In a new recurring feature, Charlotte will be bringing animal facts and her hand painted animal rocks. We start today with the very cute Cottontail Rabbit.
When you walk through your neighborhood and spot a rabbit, it could be one of two species. In Massachusetts lives both the New England cottontail as well as the eastern cottontail. The two species look close to identical but you’ll be able to spot the difference from the white or light brown spot found on the eastern cottontail’s forehead. Some favorite foods of the cottontail are strawberries, lettuce, and dandelion.
